Which massage is right for you?

Quite often I hear different versions of:

"Which massage should I choose? I just want to feel better."

The answer usually is:

It depends on what your body needs today.

Although I offer Lomi Lomi Nui, Thai Yoga massage and Tantric bodywork, I don't see them as competing styles.

I see them as three different ways of meeting yourself.

Some days your body asks for movement.

Some days it asks to melt.

And sometimes it asks to simply be felt.

When your body needs space

If you've been carrying stress for weeks, feel emotionally exhausted and need to slow down, Lomi Lomi Nui can feel like an exhale.

Warm oil is applied on your body and long, flowing strokes create a feeling of being carried.

It feels like ocean waves moving through the body - not pushing into muscles, not trying to force or fix anything. The hands that glide on your skin move like water, enveloping you and letting you feel the contours of your body from all directions.

This touch feels nourishing and almost motherly.

You can let yourself be held.

The goal of Lomi is to create enough safety for the body to soften on its own.

At some point of the session you suddenly realize the muscles of your back are softer or that there is suddenly new space in your chest and belly.

Many people notice that as physical tension melts away, their thoughts become quieter too.

Sometimes emotions surface.

Sometimes they don't.

Both experiences are completely welcome.

When your body needs movement

Thai yoga massage is a very different conversation with the body.

Instead of oil and flowing strokes, we work fully clothed through compression, acupressure, stretching and gentle mobilization.

Sometimes people call it "lazy yoga," although there is much more happening than stretching alone.

Thai yoga massage invites the body to move where it has become rigid.

It creates space in joints and in the spine, improves circulation and often leaves people feeling lighter, taller and more energized.

While Lomi invites surrender, Thai massage invites participation.

You don't have to do anything actively, but your body is encouraged to explore movement again.

Many people are surprised by how deeply relaxing this can be because slow and deep pressure, rocking the body, fluid transitions and plenty of time for integration put your nervous system in the state of rest.

If you arrive low on energy, the flow can become more dynamic to energize your and let the energy flow.

When your body needs connection

Tantric bodywork is probably the most misunderstood of the three.

It is not about sexuality.

It is about presence.

It is an invitation to receive touch without needing to perform, achieve or become anyone else.

Many of us have learned to associate touch with expectations.

Touch that examines.

Touch that demands.

Touch that leads somewhere.

Touch that has a goal.

Tantric bodywork offers something different.

Touch that simply says:

"You can be here exactly as you are."

For some people, this becomes an opportunity to reconnect with pleasure in its broadest sense.

Not only sensual pleasure, but the simple pleasure of breathing deeply and of your skin discovering forgotten sensations.

Feeling warmth.

Feeling supported.

Feeling fully alive inside one's own body.

The session unfolds slowly, always guided by consent, communication and respect for your boundaries.

It is a beautiful way to come back to your body if you have had a difficult relationship with it or if you learned to associate touch with pain.

More similarities than differences

Although these massages look very different from the outside, they share something important.

Each one offers your nervous system a different experience of safety.

From there, the body often knows exactly what it needs.

Sometimes that looks like a deeper breath.

Sometimes a spontaneous stretch.

Sometimes laughter.

Sometimes tears.

Sometimes simply resting in silence.

Which one should you choose?

Instead of asking which massage is the best, you might ask yourself:

What is my body asking for today?

Do I need softness?

Movement?

Connection?

If you're not sure, that's completely okay.

You don't need to have the answer before booking.

We can choose together based on where you are today and what feels supportive.

Every session begins in the same place:

By listening.

Every experience is unique because everyone arrives with a different story.
